The Reds turn green or If Carlsberg did golf days …..

Tuesday the 30th saw the third Stanley Golf day at Accrington Golf club organised by the supporters club.

A good entry of 15 teams battled the course and , at times, the elements to complete their eighteen holes accompanied by one of the Stanley players.

Manager John Coleman was joined by assistant Jimmy Bell, coaches Ged Brannan and Tony Warner and Players Seamus Conneely, Sean McConville, Mark Hughes, Sam Finley, Jordan Clark, Joe Pritchard & Colby Bishop with M.D. David Burgess completing the squad.

The company teams of three were joined by one of the Red’s squad to complete their line up for the team stableford competition.

The team winners were Carlsberg with Jordan Clark on 95 points with Coley & team TG Plastics coming a close second on 93 points.

The longest drive went to Sean McConville, playing off a very respectable 10 handicap and new striker, Colby Bishop, won the nearest the pin prize with Sam Walsh ( TG Plastics) scooping the nearest the pin on the 18th with the 2nd shot.

All the teams then enjoyed the welcome hospitality of the 19th hole were we were joined by owner Andy Holt first the prize giving.
