We are pleased to welcome Mike Procter and Andy Buckel to the Trust board with immediate effect, these appointments complete our stipulated board numbers, with all standing for re-election at the AGM.
Mike is well known to Stanley fans as the artist who has produced a number of great Stanley related paintings. He now lives in Chester but originally hails from Accrington and trained as a school teacher.
He spent the majority of his career working for the Youth Hostels Association, before spending his later years with Cheshire County Council as an IT trainer, training, supporting and advising on IT in education and social care. He then retired 4 years ago and started painting as a hobby.
Born & raised in Accrington Andy still lives locally and played football for Accrington Amateurs, always promising a Stanley season ticket when he finally hung up his playing boots.
He left Holy family school and became a joiner, working on both a bench and site for 10 years before attaining a Certificate of Education and becoming a college lecturer.
After a break whilst serving as a subpostmaster, on Livesey Branch Rd in Blackburn, he then purchased houses for renovation and rent locally.
More recently he returned to college teaching and assessing and still does this to the present day.
Both are very welcome to our Board and we hope they have a long and successful term with us.
