Accy Stanley supporters are hugely disappointed that Marcus Rashford’s campaign fell on stony ground in the House of Commons this week.
It is one of the Supporters’ Trust’s long-term goals to support the local community and the challenges that it faces, especially in the current difficult times.
Jason Graham, Trust Board member and leader of the Stanley Ultras, was the first to suggest we set up a breakfast or lunch club or provide packed lunches for collection. After discussing the logistics of this, the Trust members discovered that two local organisations: Hyndburn Baby Bank and Lunches 4 Children were already coordinating funding and food provision so we approached them and offered to arrange distribution – an offer that was gratefully accepted.
We are sure our fans will want to get involved with donations of either food or money to help provide free meals for kids over the HT break etc and we already have plenty of volunteers who will help deliver around the borough.
We are determined to step in to ensure the children of Hyndburn are not left hungry this half term. we are offering to deliver a packed lunch every day for every child.
Please use this service and worry about one less bill this week.
Packed lunches can be collected every day between 10-11 am from the following places
Adult Learning Centre,
3 James Street,
Alternatively pop your address and postcode to us, or the places above, & we will deliver free of charge between 10-12 every day next week.
Donations of fruit, crisps, drinks & individually wrapped biscuits can be dropped off at the addresses above. Alternatively message us on here and we will arrange a time to collect any donations.
Clayton Park Bakery have donated sausage rolls & Pappa Mario’s Italian Takeaway of Great Harwood have donated warm pasta boxes.
We want nobody to feel any embarrassment or shame asking for this. This is what community spirit should be like and all deliveries will be confidential. As we said above: “worry about one less expense this half term.”
Spread the word.
We’re all in this together
