ENG-ER-LAND

ENG-ER-LAND BY HANNAH KUMARI

co-produced by WoLab and directed by Rikki-Beadle Blair

The Supporters Trust are delighted to be able to use the new 1968 Lounge for a unique cultural event in Accrington

On Saturday 2nd July we are featuring Hannah Kumari in her one woman production ENG-ER-LAND which has been touring the country and recently played at the National Football Museum in central Manchester.

The show tells her very personal story as someone from south Asian heritage and her experiences of racism as a football fan and struggles to be accepted into a historically white, male, working class world.

The production  blends storytelling, dance and music with some 90’s nostalgia and tackles themes including racism, identity politics, lad culture & working class masculinity. The play has been supported by the  Arts Councils & Fans for Diversity as well as the Football Supporters’ Association.
