Act of Remembrance 2021

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

from “For the Fallen” by Laurence Binyon

On Sunday, 14th November, on a cold, clear winter lunchtime, an Act of Remembrance was held in the Memorial Garden at Accrington Stanley Football Club, officiated by Mrs Debra Phillips, Accrington Stanley Supporters’ Chaplain. There were many tears and flowers from the approx. 75 people who attended. The second part of the Service was the Dedication of the Memorial Garden.

The day before, at the start of the game against Plymouth Argyle, the club organised a Remembrance tribute which was augmented by the Supporters’ Trust who arranged for all spectators to be able to hold aloft a poppy. The new Ultras banner was funded by the Supporters’ Trust.
