Chairman’s Report: AGM 2025

Thanks to all board members both new and old who have contributed to get another successful year for the supporters trust we know we’ll never be all things to all men but will try and be as much as we can to as many as possible.

We have seen a number of changes of board members and all have integrated and gravitated into roles suitable to skill sets and gives us a board that is both flexible yet resilient, With hopefully some succession planning across key roles.

It’s important to the future of the trust that we integrate new blood into the board, bringing new ideas whilst benefiting from those who have served before them.

We have also reviewed all our Trust protocols to ensure all is robust and secure and our best interests are well protected, especially as our finances are directed through increasingly complex platforms.

However, The trust remains on a firm footing both financially and membership wise and the introduction of our new Membermojo system has integrated seamlessly and assisted the smooth running of the membership process.

The introduction of a new Swans group has sent develop from a fledgling group of cygnets into a body which represents those who are an important part of the fanbase but perhaps were not well catered for in the past.

The HGT initiative continues to involve with a regular matchday presence and both men and women’s team advocates and the annual HGT fixture is now firmly entrenched on the calendar.

The Junior Redz memberships offer tremendous value and we are now seeing growth in an area which gives us a massive opportunity to develop.

We worked hard to finance a matched funding initiative with LCC to deliver a mural on the Crown pub and this has now developed to a final design, an artist appointed, and we are now in the process of planning with HBC which hopefully will see work underway in the coming weeks.

We supported Ben and the ground staff team with some much needed equipment to help them become an award winning team in L2, which is the sort of thing we can’t do without the support of our membership.

The logistics of the Liverpool game taxed our resources however it all came together beautifully and we actually thankfully brought back the same number of supporters we took. The travel team continue to do sterling work in providing away transport to all that require it and we will endeavour to keep it as affordable as possible without endangering our financial stability.

In the coming weeks we will see the unveiling of the new revamped screen using state of the art technology to deliver a vehicle which will be massively improved on the initial incarnation and provide the fans with more of a spectacle at matches and a viable commercial opportunity to the club. This Again is all financed via the Supporters Trust as was the initial screen back in 2017, this unfortunately had served its time and sunk to being a scoreboard and clock at best, which was never the intention but reliability was an increasing concern and it was time for it to go.

The finance for this really came from the incomes Generated from the monthly Club1968 draw which has seen both playing numbers and prize monies increase significantly . We added around 150 new members in the last 12 months and the prize pot has grown proportionately.
Whilst numbers are good there is still plenty of headroom to develop further and allow us to continue our works over the coming season.

Your board will continue to give freely of their time to give you the best experience we can at the stadium by supporting the various elements of our football club and ask that you continue to support us in our efforts in whichever way you can.

Thank you.

David Barnett

I would just like to say a few words about the passing of David Barnett.

Dave was a loyal and staunch Stanley fan and a true stalwart of the Supporters clubs.

Any project or work that we were doing then Dave would be there, first in line.

You could not meet a nicer man and I am sure you will join me in passing on our sincere condolences to his loved ones.

Rest in peace Dave.
