Two board members of the Official Accrington Stanley Supporters’ Trust had the pleasure of handing over a cheque for £1,163.76 to Hyndburn Food Pantry which is based on Broadway in Accrington Town Centre. They were the chosen charity to benefit from the Jack Barrett sponsored walk in 2024.
Supporters’ Chaplain at Accrington Stanley, Deb Phillips said, “The work which Stacy and her team do is amazing. So many people in Hyndburn benefit from the fantastic services they provide for those in our communities who need it the most. Those of us who took part in the sponsored walk or, in two cases, who ran, enjoyed great camaraderie whilst doing it. A group started from Ewood Park and another from Deepdale, all finishing at the Wham Stadium for a well-earned pint and a pie.”
Jodie Boast who is “Her Game Too” ambassador at Accrington Stanley added, ” What an incredible organisation this is. I was blown away by the amazing volunteers and set up the team have completed for the people of Hyndburn. No judgement, just helping those in need.”
Stacy Walsh, the charity’s manager said, “This money means so much to everyone involved with Hyndburn Food Pantry. Only last week one of our freezers broke, so this money will help a great deal in many ways. We can’t thank enough all those who took part on the sponsored walk and to all those who donated so kindly.”
